Last month, The Junior League of Owensboro continued its fight against hygiene poverty with another wildly successful and productive Free Laundry Day. That event was held on Saturday, September 21st at AC Discount Laundry on Time Drive here in town. According to Junior League of Owensboro President Jennifer Vogel, the event was "packed" and over $1300 in quarters were given out so families could do their laundry- for FREE. The event was incredibly popular, well-attended, and well-received. There's another already planned for next month.

On Monday, October 21st, members of the Junior League will launch their 2024 Little Black Dress Campaign, which is sponsored by Independence Bank. Members will choose a "little black dress" and commit to wearing that same dress the entire week.

Funds raised by the Junior League's #LittleBlackDressInitiative have already benefited several local nonprofits that serve women in need. Examples include New Beginnings Sexual Assault Support Services and My Sister's Keeper.

This year, however, all the funds raised will help fund the next few Free Laundry Day events hosted by the League.
