NTSB Spokesman & Former Owensboro Resident Offers Emotional Potomac Crash Update
Like many of you, I awoke this morning to the horrific news of a mid-air collision between a military helicopter and a jet carrying 60 passengers and four crew members.
Potomac Crash
The crash happened over the Potomac River in Washington DC. Members of an American figure skating team, coaches, and members of their families were on board. There were no survivors.
Myriad press conferences have been conducted throughout the day as information continues to come in about how and why the crash occurred. The jet was attempting to land at Reagan International Airport.
Former Owensboroan -- Now With the NTSB -- Gives Emotional Potomac Update
As recovery efforts in the icy Potomac have continued, various agencies have made themselves available to answer any number of questions. One of those agencies is the National Transportation Safety Board. A few hours ago, spokesman J. Todd Inman made an emotional pledge to the families of the victims:
Prior to Inman's swearing in to the NTSB, he lived in Owensboro and worked as a State Farm Insurance Agent. It was in 2017 when Inman moved to Washington DC where he served in the Department of Transportation as Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Staff during President Donald Trump's first administration. He was also Director of Operations in the Office of the Secretary.
Before he was sworn in to the Board last March 13th, J. Todd Inman also served as the Senior Director in the Office of the Executive Chairman at APCO Worldwide. APCO is a global public affairs consultancy.
At this time, recovery operations in the Potomac River have been temporarily suspended due to dangerous conditions.
