Is McDonald’s One Step Closer to Bringing Back the Beloved Snack Wrap?

What iconic fast food menu items do you miss? I hear folks talk about how much they wish McDonald's would serve their pizza again. While the McPizza may never make its return, the Golden Arches did do us a solid by bringing breakfast bagels back.

Ronald McDonald also seems to have something else up his sleeve. Certain United States test markets have been trying out chicken strips again after years of removing similar options like Chicken Selects and Buttermilk tenders. Of course, this is a vital ingredient of one of the most missed fast food items ever, the beloved Snack Wrap.

Discontinued in 2016, the Snack Wrap was apparently too complicated to efficiently make. I'm not buying it though. Taco Bell slings all kinds of goodness on a crunch wrap supreme! Snack Wraps have pretty simple ingredients, seasoned chicken topped with shredded lettuce, shredded cheese, and ranch sauce wrapped in a soft white flour tortilla.

If you are lucky enough to travel to Canada, it is still on available. I know other restaurant chains offer their own version of the McDonald's Snack Wrap, but they just aren't the same. Wendy's, Burger King, Sonic, and Arby's to name a few in the area.

I posted a more detailed video last December about McDonald's confirming the return of Snack Wraps and McCrispy strips, but we now have confirmation that the launch is starting to take shape!

Of course to make the McDonald's Snack Wrap you need chicken strips, in July McDonald's ran a short test run of the new McCrispy Chicken Strips in Hickory, NC.

These don't look too much different from previous offerings but don't appear to have as much breading as the Chicken Selects of my formative years!
