Now that we made it past what was hopefully the last heat wave, we can finally get ready for the superior of the seasons, fall! Or "spooky" season as lots of folks call it. The crisp mornings and evenings with warm afternoons in between. Mmmm just the best!

Does everyone have their Halloween costume ideas yet? Don't worry, you still have some time. If you want to whip them out before the 31st, you can wear them to a brand new fall festival hosted by the Daviess County Parks and Recreation Dept.

For the first time ever, ghouls and goblins will take over Yellow Creek Park for a big ole pumpkin party. Saturday, October 25th from 5-8PM. The Facebook event page lists all kinds of fun! "Activities include a costume contest, pumpkin patch, trick-or-treating, campfire s'mores, games & crafts, food vendors, and a petting zoo. The event concludes with a viewing of "Hotel Transylvania" on a 40-foot big screen."

The best part? The event is free! Highly recommend taking some money for the delicious food from local food trucks and shopping with the craft vendors. I bet there will be lots of spooky cuteness you just have to have.

I LOVE the idea of watching a movie outside in the park! What a perfect thing to do on a cool fall night.  The action is planned for Jim Lambert Pioneer village, but organizers are expecting a large crowd, so the movie area will be over where the ROMP stage usually is.

For more information or if you'd like to be vendor at this event, contact the Parks Office at (270) 685-6142.
