Know Before You Go: Owensboro’s Friday After 5 Returns With Exciting Changes

The 2025 season of Friday After 5 gets underway on Friday, May 16th in downtown Owensboro. There are some big changes in store this year, but the weekly FREE outdoor music celebration will continue offering what it's known for. Live music, fun, food, vendors, and more.

Here are the things that you need to know before you go this year!

WHAT ROADS ARE CLOSED FOR FRIDAY AFTER 5 IN OWENSBORO?

The City of Owensboro has announced that these streets will be closed every Friday through August 1st. The closures are due to Friday After 5 and the Fam Jam Street Dance.

West 2nd Street from Allen Street to St. Ann Street (beginning at 5pm)

Veterans Boulevard from Frederica Street to Locust Street (beginning at 2pm)

HOW MANY STAGES DOES FRIDAY AFTER 5 HAVE THIS YEAR?

For the 2025 season, Friday After 5 will feature live music on two stages. Music gets underway on the Overlook Stage at 6pm and lasts until 8pm. The Main Stage performances will run each Friday night from 7pm to 10pm.

WHO'S PLAYING THE FRIDAY AFTER 5 SEASON OPENER?

The Velvet Bombers, a legendary Owensboro band, are the headliners for opening night of Friday After 5's 2025 season. They'll be featured on the Main Stage at McConnell Plaza.

The band Roulette will be performing on The Overlook Stage (the Bat Wing Theatre at Smothers Park)!

WHEN DOES THE KROGER STREET FAIR BEGIN AT FRIDAY AFTER 5?

Each night of Friday After 5, the Kroger Street Fair will get underway at 5pm. It features food trucks, vendors, and more entertainment. Also, be on the lookout for special surprises and giveaways.
