I'm not one for wishing the days would move faster. Time moves quickly enough without anyone egging it on. But I wouldn't be mad about a quick finish to this rather unpleasant summer. I can't remember the last one we had in which we didn't have at least one nice day free of high humidity. So far, that hasn't happened.

In that case, I'm ready to turn my attentions toward autumn. I usually start getting that itch around the beginning of August, but it's come early this year, for obvious reasons. And now, I have even more of a reason to be joyous than I would, anyway.

The Farmer's Almanac Kentucky Fall Forecast

Fall is my favorite season. I can't seem to spend enough time outdoors during my favorite time of the year. That's going to happen again as the Old Farmer's Almanac has released its autumn forecast, and it should give everyone in my surroundings reasons for jubilation if they, like me, are sick of this heat and humidity.

Who's ready for a cool and dry autumn?

(By the way, I've been to New Mexico several times, and I can tell you that "cool & dry" equals "heaven on Earth" in the Land of Enchantment. Go, if you can.)

Why Is Kentucky So Hot This Summer?

There's nothing unusual about a hot Kentucky summer, but it is unusual to get this far into summertime without having had at least one day in which the humidity was low and comfortable, and the temperatures followed suit. We haven't had that, yet, and it's made this summer more unbearable than most.

Fortunately, the Old Farmer's Almanac has come to the rescue with, at the very least, a great big dose of hope.
