Ahead of Winter Storm, TN Weather Guy Issues Hilarious Liquor Storm Warning
A huge winter storm is taking aim on the south and there are a variety of states that could see significant snowfall Thursday night and Friday. Among them- Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, Missouri, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana. Many areas, as you can see in the graphic below, are already under a Winter Storm Warning (that's the dreaded pink).
Here's what we know. It's cold. It's going to snow. Some places, like Memphis, could see around eight inches!
It's that forecast the prompted the site The DAMN Weather of Memphis to issue a LIQUOR STORE WARNING. This is hysterically funny.
According to The DAM Weather of Memphis Facebook page, the URGENT WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE was issued at 10:23 PM CST on Tuesday, January 7th, 2025. The LIQUOR STORE WARNING officially goes into effect Thursday prior to 11pm and runs through opening hours on Saturday.
Just as important as the LIQUOR STORE WARNING is the FULL INSURANCE COVERAGE WATCH. According to the site, the Winter Storm Warning issued by the National Weather Service indicates that "conditions unfavorable to not having liquor or full coverage insurance are anticipated during the warning hours."
DAMN Weather goes on to warn motorists about the dangers of driving alongside their fellow motorists. Among those warnings- 1) As conditions deteriorate, you should expect other drivers not to pay any attention to their speed until it's too late 2) Note that some drivers will lose control causing traffic headaches throughout the city.

The social media page is the creation of Trey Asbridge.
He started the page back in 2009 and rebranded it in 2014. Trey says he always thought he would grow up and take the place of Dave Brown, WMC-TV's long-revered meteorologist. However, when Dave retired, it occurred to Trey that he uses "way too many vulgar words to ever be on broadcast television."
So, he pivoted a bit, but still gets to live out that life-long dream of being a meteorologist without the daily threat of getting censored and/or fired. Trey says The DAMN Weather of Memphis has continued to gain a cult following because "it’s relatable to the every day person going about their day and isn’t polished up."
The DAMN Weather of Memphis currently has over 17,000 followers. I have a hunch a few of them, in advance of Thursday and Friday's winter storm, have made a pit stop at a local liquor store to get ready for some DAMN snow.
