Christmas in This Kentucky Town is Like Stepping Into a Hallmark Movie
Leitchfield, Kentucky was recently named one of the Top Christmas towns in Kentucky by Only in Your State. Here is what they had to say about the quaint little town in Grayson County,
"The holiday spirit is alive and well in Grayson County, with towns such as Leitchfield going all out for Christmas. From epic Christmas lights displays to amazing festivals and parades, this is one place you definitely want to be in November and December!"
I know firsthand the hospitality of folks in Leitchfield. Growing up, I visited family there in the summers and for holidays. I love going to their festivals and parades because they go all out! Last year, I had a total blast at their summer Honey Festival in Clarkson and my family had the most magical time at their Christmas parade and Shop the Square event.
It was seriously like stepping into a Hallmark movie. We stopped at a beautiful coffee shop in their downtown square, got some hot chocolate and peppermint mochas, and then watched the parade.
When it was over, Santa made his way to the town hall where he sat for pictures and welcomed wishlists from the kiddos there. The square was full of neat little shops and vendors and food trucks were set up outside. So lovely!
I highly recommend making plans to go this year if you want a hometown Christmas experience. December 7th is this year's Hometown Christmas Shop the Square and the Annual Christmas Parade. As I said, Grayson County knows how to do a parade, so you won't want to miss out on the awesome floats created for this year's theme "A Gingerbread Christmas." After the parade, just like last year, Santa will kick off Shop the Square.
