Last night, a violent storm swept through the tri-state. I'm pretty on top of weather. When you get an alert from this station about tornado warnings, I'm usually the one who has sent it. But last night, we were all caught off guard. We expected a brief thunderstorm but a possible tornado tore through Warrick County. My power went out and I was no help to my co-workers.

Bad weather really hit the Vann Road area where the Warrick Humane Society sits. Today, they are desperately asking fosters to step up.

We Need Help!!

Our buildings are safe, we have a few trees down but otherwise we were lucky. All of the animals in our care are safe!

Unfortunately we are still out of power, and we don't know when it will be back. We may be looking at another 24 hours, and the heat index today is going to be 105. We need fosters!

Please help us get our dogs out of the heat! We just need fosters until our power comes back on. If our power isn't back today, we will be closed to the public.

If you can help us by fostering, please fill out a foster application on our website. Reach out by messaging us here [on Facebook]! Our phones are down.

You can fill out a foster application here.
UPDATE: It Takes a Village is asking for immediate fosters as well.

Petting Zoos Within Driving Distance of the Tri-State

Anyone who knows me knows that I prefer animals over people most days. I tell my boyfriend all of the time that when we retire, I want a little plot of land with some cows, goats, pigs, chickens, and a whole lot of dogs. A girl can dream, right?
Sadly, since I can't have my own farm anytime soon, I guess I will settle for enjoying other people's animals, which means frequenting petting zoos and farms is pretty common for us. Luckily, I don't have to drive far to pet all the animals I can fit into a day.
From elephants to highland cattle to Clydesdales and a coatimundi, the tristate offers a wide variety of petting zoos that can be visited in a short day trip. Next thing you know, you'll be making your own list of animals to have on your own dream farm like me.

How To Tell Someone You're From Warrick County Without Saying You're From Warrick County

There are several ways to tell someone where you're from without actually telling them where you're from. Let's take Warrick County for example.
