Bluey Got His Name Because He Adores Kids – He’s the Warrick Humane Society Pet of the Week
Bluey Loves Kids
This week's featured pet got his name because he absolutely adores kids! Meet Bluey, the Warrick Humane Society Pet of the Week.
Bluey is Super Smart
Bluey is a two-year-old German Shepherd/Cattle dog mix who the folks at WHS took in from Union County Animal Control. Bluey has been at the WHS for over 80 days and we don't know why because he's a smart dog and aims to please. He is house-trained, knows tricks like sit and shake, and did I mention that he's over the moon about kids? His favorite game is "chase" and he will play it with his people all day!
Bluey is Working on a Bad Habit
The staff told us that he's very food motivated which is helpful with training. But he's working on grabbing it from you. So, he'll need someone who will take the time to work with him. He deserves it - he's such a good boy.

What the WHS Staff Wants You to Know About Bluey
Bluey gets along with select dogs, the staff recommends a meet-and-greet at the shelter before bringing him home. He does not do well with small dogs or cats.
What Volunteers Say About Bluey
Today I walked *BLUEY,* a sweet boy I had walked a few times before, and he was simply the best! He is an excellent leash-walker and easygoing. He loves treats and will sit “so pretty” and give you that can’t resist look with his sweet eyes!
He did not seem bothered by people or other dogs while on the trail, but always do a “meet and greet” if you have other pets. I am pretty sure he is house-trained and is just a really good boy! Bluey would love to complete your family! - Angie 'Smith' Wright
Adopting Bluey
His adoption fee is reduced by 20%. It includes all current vaccines, deworming, prevention, microchip, and neuter. Fill out an application or come in for a meet and greet during business hours.
