Here’s the 4th of July Forecast for Indiana and Kentucky
It’s been hotter than a $2 pistol here in the Tri-State. Over the weekend, we went horse showing at the 4-H Fairgrounds and were actually grateful for the upper 80s. Once it hit 90 degrees, we all thought we might keel over from heat exhaustion. But honestly, that was nothing compared to the scorcher we had last week.
Unfortunately, this week isn’t looking much better. Today and tomorrow, we’re getting hit with thunderstorms that are loading the air with moisture. If you’ve ever been to Arizona, you know dry heat is a walk in the park compared to humidity. When you're riding horses, you actually have to add the temp and humidity together to figure out if it’s safe. Anything over 180 is considered dangerous, and we’re about to hit those numbers.

4th of July Temperatures in Southern Indiana and Western Kentucky
We’re heading back into the 90s this week in Southern Indiana and Western Kentucky. Wednesday looks like the nicest day with slightly lower humidity. But Friday? Hot and sticky, with highs hitting 90 to 94 degrees
4th of July Temperatures in Northern Indiana
The further north you go, the lower your temps will be but not by much. The National Weather Service predicts a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm in the Indianapolis area and a 10 percent chance after 8 pm. It will be mostly sunny, with a high near 90.
4th of July Temperatures in Eastern Kentucky
Eastern Kentucky looks quite similar to the rest of us. Sunny, with a high near 90.
