I’ll be honest, pizza is one of those foods that I could eat way more often than I probably should. Sometimes I’m in the mood to share, but plenty of times I’ve gone all-in and tried to take down a whole pie by myself. No regrets. So here’s the deal: everybody argues about what the best pizza is, but let’s be real, “best” is totally up to you. Some swear by thin crust, others live and die by deep dish, and then there are folks who won’t touch anything that isn’t wood-fired with fancy toppings. At the end of the day, you’re not going to get everyone to agree.

That said, Chicago does have bragging rights when it comes to deep dish, and right now, people can’t stop talking about Milly’s Pizza in the Pan. Their star pie is called The Only Pans, and it’s basically pizza that got dressed up to headline the Lolla of food: pepperoni, peppadew peppers, ricotta, tomato, Calabrian chili honey, and a swirl of pesto. It’s sweet, spicy, cheesy, and just the right amount of greasy.

How to Actually Get One of These Pizzas

Here’s the catch: Milly’s only offers takeout, and they prepare a limited number of pizzas each day. What I'm saying is, if you think you’re just going to cruise to Chicago and stroll in at 7 p.m. and grab one, good luck. Better plan ahead or prepare for disappointment.
