Evansville Exit Ranked Most Stressful In Indiana
If you've ever taken the I-69 exit onto the Lloyd Expressway in Evansville and felt your stress level spike a little bit, you're not alone.
A new study of more than 3,000 drivers ranked the most stressful off-ramps in Indiana, and that particular stretch came in at number one.
Evansville Exit Tops The List
According to the survey from law firm Regan Zambri Long, the I-69 exit 7 to the Lloyd Expressway stood out as the most stressful off-ramp in the entire Hoosier State.
And honestly, we can see why.
It's one of the busiest routes in Evansville, and if you hit it at the wrong time of day, things can slow down quickly. With traffic lights sitting nearby, cars start stacking up, and before you know it, you're hitting your brakes a lot sooner than you expected.
That quick shift from highway speed to stop-and-go traffic is where a lot of the frustration kicks in.

Why Off-Ramps Feel So Stressful
The study points out something most drivers probably already feel. The hardest part of a drive isn't the interstate or highway itself; it's getting off of it.
Short merge lanes, tight spacing, and sudden slowdowns all force drivers to make quick decisions. When traffic builds, it doesn't take much for things to feel chaotic.
That's usually when you start to see the things we all complain about, like last-second lane changes, hard braking, and drivers trying to squeeze into gaps that aren't really there.

Other Indiana Spots Drivers Called Out
Evansville wasn't the only area mentioned. Other high-stress off-ramps include:
- I-65 Exit 112 to I-70 in Indianapolis
- I-65 Exit 253 to US-30 in Merrillville
- O-465 Exit 33 to Keystone Avenue in Indianapolis
- I-69 Exit 203 to 96th Street in Fishers
Each one of these shares a similar theme: heavy traffic, tight transitions, and not a lot of room for error.
A Local Reality Check
For Evansville drivers, this ranking probably feels more like validation than a surprise.
It's one of those everyday spots where you just kind of know to stay alert, be patient, and maybe expect a little slowdown.
