Where in the Bo-Berry Biscuit is Evansville’s Bojangles?
For years, there have been rumors and reports that Evansville would be getting a Bojangles, but nearing the end of 2024, no such restaurant has surfaced.

Having lived in both Tennessee and Kentucky, I can attest to the popularity of the famous Cajun-seasoned fried chicken chain. In fact, while I was loading the final items into my U-Haul during my move out of the Volunteer State, the last place I ate at was, in fact, Bojangles. I'm a huge fan of not only the chain's standard fried chicken pieces but also their signature biscuits, like the Cajun Chicken Filet Biscuit. I'd love to see the Bojangles set up shop close to home.
Where Are Bojangles Restaurants Located in the United States?
Bojangles was founded in 1977 as a single location in Charlotte, North Carolina. Today, this growing chain has expanded to include around 800 restaurants in over 17 states and counting. Surrounding states with Bojangles locales include Ohio with three restaurants, Illinois with three, and Kentucky with seven. North Carolina currently boasts the most locales, with a whopping 348 restaurants.
Is Bojangles Actually Coming to Evansville?
In 2017, the Courier & Press reported that Bojangles announced plans to expand to Evansville as part of a broader move to add locations in the Hoosier State. In 2020, more reports began circulating that other Hoosier cities would also have access to franchise opportunities, including Newburgh, Boonville, Jasper, Clarksville, and New Albany. However, in 2024, none of those cities are home to a Bojangles.
I've reached out to Bojangles corporate headquarters for an update on the situation, but I have not received a response. That said, if you live in or around Evansville and still have a craving for Bojangles’ Famous Chicken 'n Biscuits, there are some options—you'll just have to enjoy long drives. The closest options are the one in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, located at 3101 S 10th St, or the one in Marion, Illinois, at 1900 The Hill Ave. Both are about a 1.5-hour drive from Evansville.
