Indiana Spot Named One of the ‘Best Mexican Restaurants’ in the Nation
This place is a popular spot to grab Mexican food here in Indiana, and now it’s being ranked among the best in the nation!
Who doesn't love a good taco? They are comfort food that has become so popular, that they even have a specific day of the week to eat them. Whether it's a soft or hard shell, there are so many ways you can prepare them. You can stuff them with chicken, steak, ground beef, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, rice, beans, pico, guacamole...you get the idea. However, when it comes to Mexican restaurants, there is so much more than tacos that you can enjoy. My personal favorite is a chimichanga. That being said, you also have the traditional staples of fajitas, taco salads, burritos, quesadillas, flautas, enchiladas, and of course, chips and queso.

Now, of course, everyone has their favorite Mexican restaurant in Indiana to dine at. Mine happens to be El Maguey in Boonville (shoutout to El Maguey for the Chicken on the Beach). That being said, one food website claims that they have found the best Mexican restaurant in the entire state and one of the best in the United States.
Indiana Spot Named One of the 'Best Mexican Restaurants' In The Nation
LoveFood compiled a list of the best Mexican restaurants in every U.S. state by combining user reviews, awards, accolades, and their team’s first-hand experiences. They included a mix of taco spots, neighborhood favorites, and restaurants with modern twists on traditional dishes.
According to the list, the best Mexican restaurant in Indiana is kind of odd considering it's a chain with several locations across the United States. However, apparently the Indianapolis location is one of, if not, the best in the country. The restaurant is called Bakersfield. Here's what LoveFood had to say:
There are several Bakersfield restaurants in the US, and the Indianapolis location is a real local favorite. Street food–inspired tacos and tostadas dominate the menu, while the drinks, perfectly mixed and wonderfully fresh-tasting, come highly recommended. The same goes for the fish tacos, which are packed with crispy mahi and citrus slaw, and the Johnny ensalada: a zingy, satisfying ensemble of mixed greens, bacon, Cotija cheese, and hearts of palm.
Have you eaten at the Indianapolis location of Bakersfield before? If so, do you think it's the best Mexican restaurant in the state? It looks like a really fancy Mexcian restaurant. It's not the type that I am accustomed to, but I'm sure it's still good.
