There's something eerily fascinating about a good ghost story, I cannot get enough of them! I love learning about the legends that surround historic locations that leave me wondering, "If these walls could talk, what would they say?" I think that's partially why I find haunted places so interesting. Recently, USA Today polled people to find the best haunted locations across the United States, and one infamously haunted hotel in Indiana made the top 10 list!
USA Today's 10 Best Reveals a Haunted Indiana Location Among the Top 10!
Now this is pretty cool! Of all of the notoriously haunted places across the United States, one unassuming roadside hotel in Indiana was named among the top 10 in the entire country for best haunted location! Coming in at number 5 on the list of "10 Best Haunted Places in the United States" was the Roads Hotel.
The Roads Hotel
Located north of Indianapolis in the small town of Atlanta, Indiana, sits a historic hotel that is said to be incredibly haunted. In the late 1800s, the town of Atlanta served as a railroad layover town, which made it a great location for a hotel as people were constantly traveling through the area. There are even rumors that notorious criminals like Al Capone and John Dillenger were once guests at the Roads Hotel.
The Roads Hotel is believed to have been built in 1893. The current owners know that what they have is an extremely unique piece of history, and they want to share the Roads Hotel with anyone interested. While the hotel no longer serves as an actual hotel, you can book the hotel for paranormal investigations year-round. The funds from the paranormal investigations go to preserving this unique piece of Hoosier history.
