After having too much fun on a Saturday night, it's historically not uncommon to wake up to strange things or people in your home. However, in this case, that isn't exactly what led to an uncomfortable Sunday morning situation. Rather, this latest tale from Evansville falls more under the category of a home invasion—and an odd one at that.
Evansville Homeowner Finds Stranger in Bed
According to freelance journalist Sarah Boyles, an Evansville homeowner woke up Sunday, March 2, to a strange man lying in bed next to him. The man was later identified as Jeremy Holtzclaw, 49, of Evansville. After hearing the homeowner's screams, Holtzclaw fell to the floor when another resident of the home was able to grab him and take him out to a balcony. It was there he was found by police, who said he was holding a pipe used for smoking synthetic marijuana (K2).

Holtzclaw was taken into custody and admitted to police he had been smoking K2 before the incident occurred. He also told officers he had been suffering from anxiety and heart palpitations and was trying to get someone to call 911. (I'd say the homeowner may have had some heart palpitations of his own after that wake-up call.)
Holtzclaw has since been arrested and booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail on a $2,000 bond. He faces charges of residential entry, possession of paraphernalia, and public intoxication. As for the startled residents of the home, hopefully, they will be investing in some better security measures.
