The Coolest, Most Useless Thing I Ever Spent Money On
There are a lot of useless items you can buy online, but this is definitely the best one for Star Wars fans.

I've been a Star Wars fan for as long as I can remember. Since I was a kid, I wanted a real lightsaber, or at least something better than the annoying telescoping nightmares Hasbro created. Luckily, over the years, lightsaber replicas and props have come a long way, and they're only getting better. I've purchased a few of them, but my latest find is perhaps the coolest yet.
Silver Unicorn Force FX Lightsaber from Artsabers
Believe it or not, lightsaber replicas can cost quite a bit of cash. Prices range anywhere from $50 to over $1,000 with high-end Neopixel technology. Most of the cheaper options aren't exactly movie replicas but are rather a tad more customized. Some of the big-name lightsaber companies include Ultrasabers, SaberForge, Nsabers, and Imperial Workshop. In my opinion, they each make far better quality items than one would get at Disney's Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.
Another online lightsaber marketplace I decided to look into is Artsabers, where I chose to purchase their Silver Unicorn Force FX Lightsaber. I'll be honest, I thought the name was a tad cheesy, but as a 25-year-old male spending over $100 on a toy, I'm not sure what else I was expecting. The item arrived within two weeks, and I must say, I was definitely impressed.
Is Buying a Lightsaber a Waste of Money?
With the cheesy name comes the cringy photo above, which I was barely brave enough to include in this article. The RBG-X version of the lightsaber I purchased has a metal alloy hilt and several sound fonts and colors to choose from. Additionally, it features what's called "smooth swing technology," which produces the humming whoosh noise with any movement you make. Not going to lie, it's a dream come true for this Star Wars fan.
All in all, it's a neat item but completely useless in a practical sense. In truth, I don't buy nearly as many collectibles like this as I did when I was a teenager for that reason. I suppose it could be used as a flashlight at best, but other than that, it makes for a great light in my home office. Still, if you're a longtime Star Wars fan wanting to feel like a kid again, this is certainly one way to do just that.
