There is a new report that indicates more Illinois jobs are being reduced as a company specializing in returns plans to layoff 76 according to a notice to the state.

I noticed a new alert from the Illinois Work Net website which says the state was just notified that a logistics company plans to layoff 76 workers. The WARN notice says that Quiet Logistics, Inc located at 1333 N Hickory Ave in Chicago, Illinois plans to close a plant with layoffs for 76 workers to be effective on May 23, 2025.

Wikipedia shows that Quiet Logistics specializes in working as a third-party company assisting others with return needs. The listing says it "specializes in providing order fulfillment and returns management services to e-commerce retailers."

Quiet Logistics was purchased by American Eagle Outfitters with the sale being complete in December of 2021. There's no word if the workers are being given the option to relocate to one of the company's other locations or not.

This latest round of layoffs brings the total Illinois workers who have lost their job in the past 30 days to 4,422. Even one is too many, but the rapidity of layoffs that have happened in Illinois so far in 2025 is concerning. Here's hoping the affected workers will land on their feet with better opportunities.
