New List Says There are 3 Illinois Truck Stops That are Trouble

If you have traveled a lot in your life like I have, you know there are great truck stops and there are some that bring a tangible fear. There's a new list shared by truckers that now says there are 3 truck stops in Illinois that are nothing but trouble.

You may be familiar with a printed-out list that was shared on Reddit a few years ago claiming it was a "do not stop" list that they were given by the trucking company they worked for. This is NOT that list. This is a new warning of trouble spots that was shared recently by Trucking 101.

Before I continue, I want to be clear that I am NOT telling you to not stop at these truck stops. I'm simply sharing because I trust what truckers have to say when they've had bad experiences in their travels.

Here are the 3 Illinois truck stops they have on their trouble list:

PILOT TRAVEL CENTER #313, I-55/70 Exit 4, East St. Louis. IL 62201

FLYING J #642, I-255 Exit 17A, Alorton, IL 62207

ROAD RANGER #378, I-55 Exit 288, Chicago. IL 60632

It's entirely possible that these Illinois truck stops became aware of problems and worked to get them taken care of and/or local law enforcement may have made things better. Even without seeing this trucker warning list, I avoid gassing up in big cities and wouldn't stop at any place in East St. Louis or Chicago unless I had no other options.
