Infection from Shakes Linked to 12 Deaths Including Illinois

It's been spreading like wildfire. There are many that have been hospitalized and a dozen deaths are now linked to an infection caused by shakes and Illinois is among the states where lives have been lost.

There is a bulletin from the CDC that says Illinois is among the states where people have died from listeria infections possibly caused by supplemental shakes.

The recall notice from the FDA says the shakes were manufactured by Prairie Farms location in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Here are label pictures from the affected products.

As of this writing, here are the statistics of those that have been sickened by this listeria outbreak:

According to the latest bulletin from the CDC, there is an ongoing investigation into the connection between these recalled shakes and the cases of listeria that are impacting Illinois and 20 other states.
