Who isn't ready for summertime fun?  With the weather warming up, it's time to hop into the pool and cool off. But did you know that there are more than just pools around the Tri-State?  There are beaches too!

A Sandy Beach Close to Home

Lincoln State Park is home to its very own sandy beach.  You can take the day and relax out on the sand with a beach town, or hop in the lake and cool off.  It's the perfect way to get away, that's not too far from home.

Lincoln State Park took to Facebook to update that they'll officially have the beach open on Memorial Day Weekend:

Just a friendly reminder that our beach will not be open for swimming until Memorial Day Weekend.
Swimming is allowed within the roped areas of the beach from Sunrise to Sunset Memorial Day Weekend - Labor Day Weekend.
Here's a great flyover video showing the beach!

Plenty to Do At Lincoln State Park

Lincoln State Park is just about 30 minutes from Evansville, and is the perfect distance for your next staycation. If you're looking for some fun things to do this summer, but aren't really wanting to travel too far, Lincoln State Park would be the perfect place to go.

Not only is it a short drive from Evansville there's so much to do there. First off you can rent a cabin that sleeps up to 6 people for only $70/night.  You and five friends could go for a whole week and spend less than $100/person.  Maybe you're looking for something fun to do with the family? Lincoln State Park doesn't have a shortage of fun things to do for the whole family, from fishing, to hiking and more.  Maybe tent camping is more your style?  They have 150 campsites available.

Looking for a Beach Closer to Evansville?

Just recently my friend Travis wrote up an article about Scales Lake's Beach in Boonville. If you're wanting to go more for a day to swim and less for a day or two to explore, this beach may be up your alley!
