Indianapolis Taylor Swift Eras Tour Resale Ticket Prices Should Be Illegal
In less than three months Swifties will take over the capitol of Indiana. As a Hoosier and die-hard Swifty, I am super sad that I won't be able to see Taylor Swift's Eras Tour in Indianapolis.
Swifty for Life
I have written about my love for Taylor Swift many times. I am proud to say that I have been a certified SWIFTY since 2007. It makes me so happy that the entire world is aware that she is the real deal superstar, boss, friend, and mastermind.
Taylor Swift Sent Me a Hand-Written Card
I had the amazing opportunity to meet Taylor Swift way back in 2007. She was just starting out and visiting radio stations to do interviews and sing a song or two. Taylor was super sweet, talented, and very smart even as a teenager. Taylor Swift made me a card and sent it to the radio station that I worked at in 2007.
From Walmart Performances to Sold-Out Stadiums
It's funny to even think about this, but in 2007 Taylor Swift did a small Walmart tour! Yes, I was there, and there are videos (Poor quality, it was 17 years ago). Taylor played the Nicholasville, Kentucky Walmart in April of 2007. Can you imagine the sold-out crowds from the Eras Tour packed into a Walmart? That would be chaos.

Taylor Swift Sells Out Lucas Oil Stadium 2024
When Taylor Swift added a few more stops to her Eras Tour, I was so excited to see Indianapolis, Indiana on the list. At that time November 2024 seemed like it would be a fortnight to wait to see this amazing concert.
Sorry, No Tickets For You Swifty
I signed up for the opportunity to buy tickets, but I didn't even get into the queue. And then all of the tickets for the three Indianapolis shows were sold. Completely sold out. Talk about Swifty sadness, right? I've checked recently and Ticketmaster has zero seats for sale.
StubHub Bad Blood
Ticket scalpers were still able to get their grubby little hands on Taylor Swift tickets. I decided to just look at StubHub and see how much they are going for. I was not prepared for the insanely overpriced seats.
Your eyes are not playing tricks on you. there are tickets priced at $11,863! That is one ticket and that doesn't include any taxes or fees. When you factor in the cost of travel, hotel, concert merch, and food, you would need to be a millionaire to see the Eras tour in Indianapolis.
The lowest-priced seats I found on StubHub were $1,998. That is for a partially obstructed view, and that is only 1 ticket! I did check SeatGeek and the tickets are just as expensive.
How in the world is this legal?
There is no Federal law regarding ticket scalpers. Each state can make its own laws, but in Indiana, it's legal to charge whatever you want for reselling concert tickets.
