Indiana Has One of the Very Best Christmas Light Displays in America
It's already beginning to look like Christmas in Downtown Evansville, and if you love holiday displays featuring thousands of lights, a little road trip should be in your future.
Personally, I think that the best way to get into the holiday spirit is to drive around looking at Christmas lights. And listening to Christmas music too, of course. Our friends with Evansville Christmas Lights are ready to share some of the best displays in Evansville.
Ritzy's Fantasy of Lights in Garvin Park is always on our list and so is Santa Claus Land of Lights in Santa Claus, Indiana. Shockingly, Land of Lights is not one of the nominees for USA Today's 'Best Public Holiday Light Displays in America'.
One of America's Best Christmas Light Displays is in Indiana
Even though our amazing displays in Southern Indiana didn't make the 2023 list, Indiana is still on the map. Downtown Indianapolis' Circle of Lights has long been a cherished tradition, transforming the heart of the city into a dazzling winter wonderland. Since its inception in 1962, when the monumental Soldiers and Sailors Monument was magically adorned as the world's largest Christmas Tree, the festival has flourished into an emblem of holiday enchantment and communal joy.
Today, the breathtaking sight of the entire Monument Circle aglow with 4,784 meticulously hand-strung lights serves as a testament to the dedication of countless volunteers who pour their hearts into this annual spectacle. Against this radiant backdrop, there are local and international singers, alongside a medley of performance artists. There are also some cool pop-up shops that add an extra layer of excitement.
