Finally, Indiana finds itself on the positive side of one of these studies...unfortunately, the same could not be said for our neighbor to the south. And while many of these studies seem to be pretty frivolous, this one is about a pretty important topic - the best and worst states to be a police officer.

WalletHub's latest study scored states in three categories related to law enforcement: Opportunity & Competition...Job Hazards & Protections...and Quality of Life. It's actually way more involved than that. You can see the full report here.

Congratulations to the Hoosier state for landing at #5 on the list! Illinois has plenty to be proud of...they just missed the top ten, coming in at #11 in the country. What about the third member of our Tri-State area? Well, you have to scroll to the bottom of the list to find Kentucky. Check out the map below to see how the other states ranked.

I'm not ashamed at all to brag on our local law enforcement. We have amazing men and women protecting us here in southern Indiana. And they are super involved in our community, raising a ton of money for children's charities each year (I'm talking about you 911 Gives Hope).
