Indiana is Home to the #2 Ranked High School and #1 Charter School in America
Each year, U.S. News and World Report looks at information for nearly 25,000 schools in all 50 states. Those schools are ranked based on a number of factors, including their performance on state assessments and how well they prepare students for college. Out of all those schools, from all across the land, the one that landed at #2 on the list is right here in Southern Indiana.
According to this report, the 2nd best high school in America is SIGNATURE SCHOOL located in downtown Evansville, Indiana. Why are they so high on the list? Here's what the report says...
Signature School offers Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate courses, and its students consistently outscore state and national averages on college entrance exams. In addition to AP and IB courses, students can choose from electives such as piano lab. All Signature School students are expected to complete a minimum number of community service hours. Parent involvement at Signature includes the Parents, Teachers and Students Association, which organizes fundraisers and supplies volunteers for school events.
The Best Charter School in the Nation
And for the second year in a row (it may even be longer than that), Evansville's SIGNATURE SCHOOL has the honor of being the #1 charter school in America. I feel like "Congratulations" just doesn't seem big enough for this accomplishment - if only I knew where to find some really smart students who could suggest some more appropriate synonyms.
How About a Couple More #1 Rankings?
As if all this wasn't enough, there is even more good news for Sig School. The rankings also named it the #1 High School in Indiana, and the #1 High School in the Evansville Metro Area. And I do believe that covers everything - I'd say that's enough, wouldn't you? Outstanding news, Sig School - way to go!
