The Henderson County Humane Society is at maximum capacity and they need our help finding homes for all the animals currently in their care.

The animals are a mix of dogs and cats from the local area as well as rescues they took in due to Hurricane's Harvey and Irma. The Society is looking for volunteers to foster animals, as well as others simply looking to adopt a new member of the family.

Executive Director, Angela Hagedorn, took to Facebook on Tuesday to showcase a few of the animals.

To help alleviate the issue, the Society is offering 50% off adoption fees for all dogs over one year old as well as all cats over six months old meaning you can get a dog for only $50 or a cat for just $25!

According to their website, Dog adoptions include the following:

  • DA2PP Vaccine (Distemper, Adenovirus, Parainfluenza/Parvovirus)
  • Bordetella Vaccine
  • Rabies Vaccine
  • Canine Influenza Vaccine
  • Frontline Flea & Tick Treatment
  • Dewormer
  • Spay/Neuter Surgery
  • Microchip and National Registration
  • Free 30-day ShelterCare Pet Health Insurance
