Harry Potter Fans, You Are Going to Want to Clear Your Schedule for This One
This Is Not Your Average Night Out
Expelliarmus! If you know what that means, you're probably like me and are a huge HP fan. When I was growing up I never read the books and didn't get into the movies until later. However, once I opened up that can of worms and sat down to watch the entire 8 movie series I automatically became a super fan. Then I come across something like this and it makes me want to take a road trip and go so I have to tell you about it.
A Harry Potter drone show is coming to Indianapolis and I am already trying to figure out my schedule.
What Is It?
Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences and Fever have teamed up to bring a first of its kind open air drone spectacle to the Indiana State Fairgrounds on Friday, September 25th and Saturday, September 26th, 2026. This is part of the international Harry Potter 25 Years of Magic celebrations tour, and Indianapolis is one of the stops.
Here is what makes this so special. The show features 1,200 illuminated drones choreographed to the music and iconic dialogue from the Harry Potter films. As darkness falls, a live violinist performs while the drones paint the night sky with scenes and moments you grew up watching on the big screen. I am getting chills just thinking about it.
And it gets better. Everyone in the audience gets an LED wristband that lets you interact with the performance. So you are not just watching the magic, you are actually part of it.

What Else Can You Expect
Before the show even starts, there is a full wizarding world inspired pre-show experience waiting for you. We are talking Harry Potter merchandise including wands, scarves, and collectibles, food and beverage offerings, and yes, butterbeer. Real, actual butterbeer. I've had butterbeer and it is straight yummy. If that alone does not sell you, I do not know what will.
Doors open at 6:15pm and the show kicks off at 8:15pm. The show runs for 60 minutes and includes an intermission, so you have plenty of time to soak it all in.

How to Get Tickets
Tickets go on sale at 10am on Wednesday, June 10th, (today) so hop to it! Grab your wand, robe, glasses, and head to Indy! The good news is kids under 3 get in free. You can join the waitlist right now at feverup.com and get all the details including FAQs at thedroneartshow.com/indianapolis/harry-potter.
An event like this is of course worth the drive up north. Indianapolis is close enough that there is absolutely no excuse not to go. Whether you are a lifelong Potterhead, want to introduce the magic to your kids, or just want a genuinely unforgettable night out, this show is it. 25 years of Harry Potter deserves to be celebrated in the most magical way possible, and 1,200 drones lighting up the Indiana night sky sounds pretty magical to me.
