Celebrate the Season with the Evansville Philharmonic’s Presentation of Handel’s “Messiah”

The holiday season in the Tri-State would not be complete without a performance of Handel's beloved oratorio Messiah by the Evansville Philharmonic. This year, we are being blessed with not one, but two powerful performances.

Evansville Philharmonic Conductor Roger Kalia will be joined by a baroque-size orchestra featuring members of the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra, along with members of the Evansville Philharmonic Chorus. The performances will also feature solos from Soprano Caroline Goodwin, Tenor Eric Ferring, and Baritone Zachary Coates. Together they will present this 18th-century masterpiece in its traditional setting.

Where and When Can I See the Evansville Philharmonic Perform Messiah?

This first performance will take place at Trinity United Methodist Church, located at Third & Walnut Streets in downtown Evansville on Friday, December 20, at 7pm. The second performance will be the following night at St. Joseph Catholic Church, located at 1029 Kundek in Jasper, Indiana, on Saturday, December 21, at 7pm (EST).

Both sanctuaries will be bathed in candlelight as concertgoers experience the warmth and power of the Messiah. Highlights will include “For Unto Us a Child Is Born,” “The Trumpet Shall Sound,” and the famous “Hallelujah Chorus.”

General Admission tickets are $25 each and can be purchased online at EvansvillePhilharmonic.org, or by calling the Evansville Philharmonic ticket office at (812) 425-5050. Tickets can also be purchased at the door one hour before each performance. As with all Evansville Philharmonic concerts, children and students are free.
