An Exciting Partnership

Elspeth Urbina, the Director of Development for Habitat for Humanity of Evansville, expressed her excitement about the event. She highlighted that the HYPE committee works tirelessly each year to raise funds for building Habitat homes for local families. "Gaming for Good" giveback night is their inaugural event of this kind, and they are thrilled to collaborate with the team at High Score Saloon.

“Each year, the HYPE committee works hard to raise funds to build a Habitat home for a local family. We’re so excited to be partnering with the team at High Score Saloon for our first ever ‘Gaming for Good’ giveback night as a way to do this!” -Elspeth Urbina, Director of Development for Habitat for Humanity of Evansville

Making an Impact Since 1984

Habitat for Humanity of Evansville has been making a significant impact in the Evansville community since its establishment in 1984. Their mission is to bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope. The organization firmly believes that housing plays a vital role in breaking the cycle of poverty. Habitat achieves its goals by partnering with the community, enabling low-income families in Vanderburgh and Posey counties to become homeowners.

Qualifying for a Habitat Home

Habitat launched the "100 Homes with 100 Families" campaign in 2019, with the goal of building 100 homes by 2024 and developing a transformative family support program. To qualify for homeownership, individuals or families must have an income at or below 80 percent of the area median income. They must also demonstrate a need for housing, a willingness to contribute 300 hours of sweat equity and attend homeownership classes. Additionally, they need to have the ability to pay a zero-percent APR mortgage.
