Our pet of the week is equal parts cuddle buddy and home security system. He’s a 2-year-old German Shepherd named GUNNAR, and he’s available for adoption right now at It Takes a Village.

Kid-Friendly and Dog-Approved

Weighing about 70 pounds, GUNNAR is strong, smart, and super sweet. He’s got that classic German Shepherd charm - he’s loyal, protective, and always down for an adventure (or a nap on the couch if that’s more your speed). He’s fantastic with kids and knows how to play nice with other dogs, making him an A+ addition to just about any household.

If our pet of the week isn’t the right fit for your home, please visit It Takes a Village to see the other rescues that need to get fostered and adopted. And don't forget about their RENT-A-DOG Program. A quick fill form and a copy of your photo ID will allow you to spend time with one of ITV's vetted shelter dogs. These day-dates are great for the rescues - it gets them some exercise and new information to help us get them adopted. It’s been a big hit- so don’t miss out!
