I admit, I have only been to Gatlinburg once and it was more than a decade ago. I know. I know. I hear your gasp of disappointment but it is on my list of places to visit again - and soon.

Melissa has been many times. She always tells me how amazing of a time she and her husband have had when they visit and frankly, I'm ready for a stay in a mountain cabin, nestled in the woods. I'm also ready to visit the Gatlinburg SkyLift Park.

I have been following the Facebook page for the Gatlinburg SkyLift Park for several years. (I really have had this on my travel bucket list for quite a while.) The park allows you to take take a sky lift up Crockett Mountain where, once at the top, you can see the view from the observation deck overlooking the breathtaking landscape - both day and night - and take in a meal, visit a bar for a beverage or shop in the gift shop.

At the top of Crockett Mountain is also where you will find the SkyBridge, touted as "North America's longest pedestrian cable bridge." This time of year, everything is decked out in breathtaking Christmas lights adding an extra layer of magic to the experience. Perhaps one of the most exciting parts is that right now they are offering a double-admission with your ticket, meaning if you visit after 8 pm, you can use your ticket to visit the next day as well.

Starting NOW, if you purchase / redeem your SkyLift Park admission tickets after 8pm, you can come back the NEXT DAY as well! So, enjoy the twinkling 60,000 “Lights Over Gatlinburg” at night, and then come back the next day to experience the unmatched views of the Smoky Mountains from the SkyBridge and NEW SkyTrail!
*Tickets purchased /redeemed anytime prior to 8pm allow you to visit as many times as you would like to until closing time that same day*

It definitely seems like it is time for me to finally knock Gatlinburg off of my travel bucket list. To learn more about the SkyLift Park, visit their website.
