Ever get up on a Sunday morning and think about how amazing it is that you get to decide where you want to worship - or just not go at all? Ever enjoy being able to choose how you want to parent your children, decide where you want to work, and where you would like to live? Ever just sit back and think about how you don't really have to worry about invaders coming in and taking your property, your livelihood, even your life?

All of these freedoms were bought at a price. Countless men and women have sacrificed their lives to aid in preserving the freedoms we hold dear in the United States.

This weekend, Pointman Ministries in Newburgh will be hosting their annual Freedom Isn't Free event.

Freedom Isn’t Free, will take place Saturday, October 30 at Crossroads Christian Church in Newburgh from 9:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. and is free to the public. The event includes a resource fair with local veteran support groups, the patriotic sounds of the Freedom Choir and Orchestra, and a book signing with SFC Davis and Major Jeff Struecker.

The Freedom Isn't Free press release states:

"SFC Davis is a Vietnam War veteran and was awarded the Medal of Honor on November 19, 1968, by President Johnson for his selfless heroism while facing overwhelming enemy forces. He is the author of You Don’t Lose ‘Til You Quit Trying and an excellent example of a servant leader who loves America and advocates for his fellow veterans. Major Struecker was immortalized in the book and film Black Hawk Down after he led a three-vehicle convoy under intense fire during the 1993 Battle of Mogadishu. In the film, Struecker is portrayed by Brian Van Holt. He is an award-winning author with five books in print."
