This is an opportunity to spend time with your teen driver at the Ford Driving Skills for Life driver training course at Cardinal Stadium - 2800 S Floyd St, Louisville, KY 40209.
This FREE training provides skills beyond those taught in traditional driver education courses and is an important step in the life-long process of learning to drive safely. Teens will learn new driving skills in a controlled and safe environment and vehicles are provided.
The course pairs newly licensed or permitted drivers with professional instructors, focusing on the issues that cause crashes, including hazard recognition, vehicle handling, speed and space management, and distracted and impaired driving.
Participants are typically between the ages of 15 and 23 and must have either a driver's permit or license.
We greatly encourage parents/caregivers to stay, but it's not required.
A certificate of completion will be provided to participants. This certificate can be presented to insurance companies for possible rate reductions.
This is a free program provided by the Ford Motor Company Fund. Space is limited.
It will take place at Cardinal Stadium on Saturday, April 4, and Sunday, April 5.
Looking back over my teen years there was not a whole lot of time spent behind the wheel or for training. This takes teens a step further than the norm.
