Feed Evansville Hosting ‘The Longest Table’ Free Community Dinner

Did you know that 40% of our neighborhoods right here in Evansville, Indiana are in food deserts? That means they do not have access to fresh foods. That is a statistic community leaders and nonprofit organizations like Feed Evansville are working to change.

World Food Day 2023

It's hard to believe, but there actually is enough food to feed the world every day. So, why are so many families without healthy meals? There are several key reasons, and we have those issues right here in Evansville. Too many families cannot afford fresh produce and meats. Plus, just because you have a box of food doesn't mean you know how to prepare it.

Introducing The Longest Table Evansville

The Longest Table is a FREE dinner event that coincides with World Food Day. The goal is to do more than just serve delicious food; it's about building lasting connections, creating awareness about the food desert areas of Evansville, and celebrating the power of community.

This is a FREE community dinner, however, please register here on the Eventbrite page. The event will include entertainment from 3 O'Clock Charlie and Raymond AKA DJ XRAI Williams, vendors, and dinner. Oh, and I did check on the menu, there will be: Grilled Chicken, Vegetables, Mashed Potato, Rolls, and Dessert!

A Chance to Make a Real Impact

Beyond the joy of coming together, "The Longest Table" also serves a vital purpose. Funds raised during this event will be used to further Feed Evansville's mission and projects. Community partners and sponsors are crucial in making this event a success, and in return, they'll gain exposure, expand their stakeholder network, and contribute to making a real difference in the lives of Evansville residents.
