Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library Branch Temporarily Closed
The Evansville-Vanderburgh Public Library has announced the temporary closure of its West Branch Library.
The West Branch Library is located on West Franklin Street, and as I am sure you are well aware, next week the street will be home to one of the largest street fairs in the country. It is estimated to bring nearly 200,000 people to Evansville's west side.
With that many people comes lots of traffic, parking struggles, and a whole host of other inconveniences if all you are trying to do is visit your local library that happens to sit smack-dab in the middle of the festivities.
It comes as no surprise that the Evansville-Vanderburgh Public Library would make the decision to close the West Branch, located at 2000 West Franklin Street during the annual West Side Nut Club Fall Festival.
In a post to Facebook, the Evansville-Vanderburgh Public Library encourages library patrons to visit one of the seven other locations across Evansville and Vanderburgh County:
Central Library - located at 200 SE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
EVPL East - located at 840 E. Chandler Ave.
McCollough - located at 5115 Washington Ave. (This branch location is also temporarily closed - and is being housed inside Washington Square Mall at this time. Additional details can be found below.)
North Park - located at 960 Koehler Dr.
Oaklyn - located at 3001 Oaklyn Dr.
Redbank - located at 120 S. Red Bank Rd.
Stringtown - located at 2100 Stringtown Rd.
Washington Square Mall - McCollough - located at 1108 Washington Square Mall
