$15 Feeds a Family: Support the Evansville Rescue Mission’s Gobbler Gathering
The Evansville Rescue Mission is preparing for its annual Gobbler Gathering, a heartwarming event that helps ensure local families in need have a Thanksgiving meal to enjoy. Scheduled for November, the Gobbler Gathering provides food baskets, including a turkey and Thanksgiving essentials, to over 2,000 Tri-State families.
This event is crucial for families who may struggle to afford holiday meals. With the growing demand, the Mission is turning to the community for help in meeting its goal of feeding more than 5,000 people this year.
Last Chance for Families to Sign Up
Families in need of assistance can sign up for a Thanksgiving food basket at the final in-person registration, taking place Thursday, October 24, at Washington Square Mall from 10 AM to 6 PM. After this date, any remaining spots will be available online.
How You Can Make a Difference
Donations are the lifeblood of the Gobbler Gathering, and the Evansville Rescue Mission is calling for contributions. Non-perishable food items, like canned vegetables and boxed stuffing, are always welcome, but the greatest need this year is for monetary donations to purchase turkeys.

“For just $15, you can provide a turkey for a family’s Thanksgiving dinner,” said Tracy Gorman, President/CEO of the Evansville Rescue Mission. “The generosity of the community makes this event possible every year, but we need more help to meet the rising demand.”
