Evansville residents considering a future in law enforcement, or perhaps looking to build a stronger bond with their local law enforcement officers, will soon have an exciting opportunity. Another Evansville Police Department Community Academy (formerly known as the Citizen's Academy) is coming up in August and registration is open now.

What is the Evansville Police Department Community Academy?

The Community Academy is for anyone interested in learning more about the various units within the Evansville Police Department and how they work to keep us safe. The FREE program meets each Tuesday for 12 weeks, from 6pm-9pm at the CK Newsome Center in downtown Evansville.

Representatives from the following units will be on hand each week to explain the responsibilities of their units, how those responsibilities are handled, and what their roles are in making them happen.

Register NOW for the EPD's Fall Community Academy

The Academy is FREE and open to anyone 15 years of age or older, however, anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or other guardian. There are limited spaces available and those are expected to fill up fast.
