Pickleball Action Comes to Wesselman Park

The Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) Challenger Series, powered by JOOLA, is making a stop in Evansville at Wesselman Park from September 19–21, 2025. This grassroots tour is designed to grow the game of pickleball, providing opportunities for amateurs and rising stars to hone their skills while competing alongside professionals.

What Is the PPA Challenger Series?

The PPA Challenger Series creates a structured pathway for aspiring professionals to qualify for the prestigious Carvana PPA Tour. Players ranked outside the PPA’s Top 20 can compete in the Pro Division, with top performers earning the chance to participate in select PPA Tour Open events. With more than a dozen stops planned nationwide, the Challenger Series is set to take pickleball to the next level.

Evansville Gears Up for Its Largest Tournament Yet

The Evansville tournament, hosted by Explore Evansville with support from the Evansville Regional Sports Commission (ERSC) and Evansville Community Pickleball Association (ECPA), is projected to be the largest pickleball event ever held at Wesselman Park. The tournament is expected to draw 500–700 players of all ages and skill levels, making it a can’t-miss event for pickleball enthusiasts.
