Southern Indiana Coffee Shop Gains Community Support to Stay Open For Now
Last month, Nate Templeton owner of Joe Brewski in Downtown Evansville opened up about the hardships of owning a business. Now, we have a positive update on the brick-and-mortar shop.
The Quest to Build a Better Brewski
Joe Brewski's owner Nate Templeton shared a very difficult post on social media last month, pulling the curtain back, and talking about the challenges of being a small business owner. Of course, to stay in business, you need to be profitable.
The entire goal of opening up wasn't for sympathy. It was all about the customers, and what they want and need from a coffee business. The crew asked for feedback, so they could factor that into the decision to stay open or close the doors and just keep the catering and wholesale coffee business.
You have to set expectations and goals as a business owner, so Nate set a deadline for the retail shop to stay open or close forever. That was 4 weeks ago.
You - The community showed how much Joe Brewski means to Downtown Evansville.
Here’s the update. We’ve been excited to share! Joe hit the goal! We will be sharing some more in the coming days, but the short version is the shop is now profitable enough to sustain. we are going to take a second, celebrate and savor the moment, then we’ll be back at it making improvements to continue serving you better. Thank you, friends.
