After a seven year professional career, the last three of which spent with the Icemen, team captain, Josh Beaulieu retires from playing to take the role of assistant coach.

Before joining the Icemen in the summer of 2011, the 27 year old native of Comber, Ontario played for the Philadelphia Flyers American Hockey League affiliate where he spent three years before heading to the Rapid City Rush of the Central Hockey League for the 2010-2011 season. He ends his playing days with 360 games, 75 goals, and 89 assists for 164 points.

His first goal scored as a member of the Icemen was a memorable one as it was the first scored inside the Ford Center on November 5th, 2011.

Beaulieu joins the staff of new Icemen head coach, Dwight Mullins who took the position in early June. His number 20 jersey is expected to be retired during the upcoming season.
