Pink, John Legend & More Perform at Ellen DeGeneres’ 60th Birthday Party
You only turn 60 once, and Ellen DeGeneres (unsurprisingly) made sure to go all out for the big milestone birthday (also, can you believe Ellen is 60?!). On her talk show, the comedian raved about the star-studded affair her wife, Portia de Rossi, put together over the weekend.
"I know some of you are thinking, 'wait a minute, Ellen, your birthday was two weeks ago,'" she said. "Let me correct you. My birthday started two weeks ago."
She then went on to give advice to anyone wanting to save some dough on their next soiree. “Here’s a money saving tip for you: don’t hire a band. Invite all your musician friends,” she said with a laugh. “It turns out they’ll just perform for free, especially when there’s Don Julio involved.”
Her star-studded party included performances from P!nk, Pharrell Williams, Melissa Etheridge, John Legend, French Montana and Alessia Cara, who all, of course, lended their musical talents for free. Diddy, Puffy, Puff Daddy and LOVE were all also in attendance, as was Don Julio.
Degeneres also recommended inviting Reese Witherspoon to any celebration you're planning. “Now I see why she’s such an amazing producer. She’s the one who — and I won’t say forced — but strongly suggested everyone should perform,” she joked.
Aside from a few photos from the party, Ellen didn't reveal much footage; however, she did share a special phone-shot video of Pink serenading guests with a performance of "What About Us" between sips of wine.
