The Easterseals Rehabilitation Center has just launched an exciting new program designed to help adults with disabilities build connections, gain independence, and thrive in everyday life.

A New Way to Connect in Evansville

The new initiative is called Easterseals Connect, and it takes a fresh, real-world approach by bringing services directly into the community – right where people live, work, and socialize. Instead of a one-size-fits-all setting, participants meet in small groups of 8-12 people at welcoming local “hubs,” where they receive personalized support tailored to their goals and interests.

That means whether someone wants to sharpen job skills, explore new hobbies, or simply make meaningful friendships, they’ll have the support to do it – all while feeling part of the community.

First Easterseals Connect Hub is Already Open

The very first Connect Hub officially opened this week at Crossroads Christian Church. Church leaders and members spent months working alongside Easterseals, even renovating part of their campus to create this welcoming space for participants.

Easterseals Connect Builds Skills, Confidence, and Community

What makes Easterseals Connect especially impactful is its flexibility. Each hub is designed with a unique focus, allowing participants to:

  • Learn practical, skills-based lessons
  • Experience new activities out in the community
  • Build job skills through volunteer opportunities

At the Crossroads location, participants can even volunteer both at the church and with other local partners – helping them gain real-world experience while giving back.

More Easterseals Connect Hubs Coming Soon

Easterseals plans to roll out additional Connect Hubs across the Evansville area in the coming months, expanding opportunities for even more individuals and families.
