Be a Part of the FREE Earth Day Celebration at Wesselman Woods in Evansville
Earth Day 2025 is coming up on Tuesday, April 22nd, and this is the perfect excuse (in case you need one) to visit one of Evansville's neatest attractions. Wesselman Woods, Evansville's treasured old-growth forest, is gearing up for its annual Earth Day celebration. This year promises a day packed with activities, educational opportunities, and a chance to connect with the beauty of our planet.
What Makes Wesselman Woods So Special
Wesselman Woods is the largest tract of virgin, old-growth forest within any city limits in the United States. As an Indiana Nature Preserve and National Natural Landmark, Wesselman Woods is a surviving remnant of Southern Indiana’s original forests. Guests can enjoy over four miles of trails within the preserve in addition to our 5-acre Welborn Baptist Foundation Nature Playscape and Bernhardt Family Bird Sanctuary.
