NFL Forbids Steelers RB DeAngelo Williams From Wearing Pink in Fight Against Breast Cancer
Pittsburgh Steelers running DeAngelo Williams has a personal interest in making sure we win the battle against breast cancer.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the NFL is heavily involved in expressing its support. Williams stars in this PSA from the league talking about breast cancer.
Williams knows from what he speaks. His mother and four of his aunts have died from breast cancer. He's so dedicated to the fight that he always wears pink on the field.
The NFL, however, would not let Williams wear pink game apparel when it's not October, claiming it violated uniform policy.
Williams is certainly not letting that stop him from continuing his work fighting the disease. He plans to pay for more than 50 mammograms for women in hospitals throughout North Carolina and Pittsburgh. He told ESPN, "It's not just about October for me; it's not just a month, it's a lifestyle. It's about getting women to recognize to get tested."
