UPDATE: The Evansville Courier-Press reports that Mayor Ron Payne has announced the deal to move the IceMen to the Owensboro Sportscenter is final, and an official announcement will take place later today (Wednesday, January 20th).

On Tuesday, Owensboro Mayor Ron Payne was given authorization by the City Commissioners to bring the IceMen to the Sportscenter. Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke commented on the move through his Twitter account and during conversations with the media following the press conference announcing the team's move.

The Evansville IceMen, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Ottawa Senators and AHL’s Binghamton Senators, and Head Coach Al Sims announced Friday that the IceMen have acquired defenseman Curtis Leonard from the Fort Wayne Komets for future considerations.

Fans heading to Ford Center for sporting events, concerts, expos, or whatever will be subject to new safety procedures beginning with the Harlem Globetrotters game on Wednesday, January 14th.
