On Tuesday, Owensboro Mayor Ron Payne was given authorization by the City Commissioners to bring the IceMen to the Sportscenter. Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke commented on the move through his Twitter account and during conversations with the media following the press conference announcing the team's move.

The Evansville IceMen, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Ottawa Senators, and Head Coach Al Sims announced Friday that the AHL’s Binghamton Senators have assigned forward Danny Hobbs to the IceMen on loan. Evansville also traded forward Mark Anthoine to the Manchester Monarchs for future considerations.

In what appears to be another step toward a divorce between the City of Evansville and the IceMen, Mayor Lloyd Winnecke held a press conference on Thursday to announce (among other things) the City is exploring the option of bringing in another hockey team now that lease negotiations with the IceMen have reached an "impasse".
