A Tradition of Giving Back in Evansville

Giving back to the community is something Evansville does well, and that spirit will be on full display when the Boys & Girls Club of Evansville and OneMain Financial team up for a special day of service.

On Thursday, June 11, the two organizations will come together for the 14th annual neighborhood clean-up around the Boys & Girls Club at 700 Bellemeade Avenue. The event highlights the power of teamwork and the importance of taking pride in the community we all call home.

Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry will officially kick off the event at 11 a.m. at the Boys & Girls Club. Afterward, Club members and volunteers from OneMain Financial will split into small groups and spend about 45 minutes walking through nearby blocks, picking up litter and helping beautify the neighborhood.

More Than Just Picking Up Litter

But the day is about much more than cleaning up. Once the work is finished, everyone will gather in the Boys & Girls Club gym for lunch. The fun will continue as OneMain team members spend time with the young people at the Club, playing “Game of Life” with older members and creating crafts with younger children.

Teaching Life Skills Through Partnership

The partnership between OneMain Financial and the Boys & Girls Club of Evansville extends beyond this annual event. OneMain also supports the Club’s Money Matters program, which helps young people build important financial literacy skills.
