Anna Faris to Star in ‘Overboard’ Remake

Quick! Someone grab a life preserver—Anna Faris is about to fall Overboard.

The actress is set to star in a remake of Garry Marshall's 1987 comedy film featuring Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, E! News reports.

In the original, Hawn plays a mean, wealthy heiress who falls overboard from her yacht, gets amnesia and is convinced by Kurt's character, a single dad who just so happens to also be her carpenter, that they're married.

In the forthcoming re-imagining, however, the roles are reversed: Faris will play a single mom and Eugenio Derbez will star as a rich, spoiled playboy hailing from a wealthy family in Mexico.

Production is slated to begin in May, with a release date to be announced.
