The "Golden Girls" are coming to Owensboro...well sort of.

If you're like me, as soon as you hear "Golden Girls," you instantly sing "Thank you for being a friend..."

"The Golden Girls" began stealing our hears in 1985, when the show premiered. The show followed followed Bea Arthur, Betty White, Rue McClanahan, and Estelle Getty as four mature women who share a home in Miami, Florida. In recent years, the show's popularity has grown, becoming a hit to a newer audience. It's a show that has withstood the test of time.

Now, fans will have a chance to see the girls once more. This time, in puppet form.

Golden Girls Show! A Puppet Parody is a 90 minute show that is a little more risque than the sitcom was, but according to the show's website, it parodies classic Golden Girls moments.

From Sophia's get-rich-quick schemes, to Rose's tales from St Olaf, Blanche's insatiable hunt for men and the Fountain of Youth, and Dorothy's daily struggle to make sense of her life and keep her roommates in check.

Luckily for us "Golden Girls" fans here in the Tri-State, we will be able to check out the show in Owensboro. The Owensboro Riverpark Center announced their 2020-2021 lineup for their Director's Series. Golden Girls Show! A Puppet Parody is just one of several shows on that list. While no dates have been announced yet, they promise show dates and ticket details will be available soon.
