A Free ’90s-Inspired Rave Party Is Coming to Owensboro This September

Now this is something I wouldn't know since I was born in 2001. I do like to chase decades from the past though so this sounds like something I would be into. They say if you remember the ’90s, you probably were not really there. Luckily, Owensboro is giving you the chance to experience the decade again for the first time.

A free, ’90s-inspired dance party called emergencE is happening at The Spot Coffee and Finery in Owensboro on Saturday, September 5, beginning at 6 p.m.

Vinyl-Only Music All Night

DJ Johnny Cool will be spinning everything on vinyl, with a mix of techno, trance, hardcore and breakbeat music.

This is not your typical throwback party filled with the biggest radio hits of the decade. Organizers are promising rave classics and deeper cuts for people who love old-school electronic music or simply want to try something different.

There will also be lights and plenty of retro rave energy, so blacklight-friendly clothing is highly recommended. This is the perfect excuse to pull out the neon, bright patterns and anything that glows.

What You Need to Know

The party is free to attend, but it is strictly for guests 18 and older. No outside food or drinks will be allowed.

The Spot Coffee and Finery is located at 2815 Veach Road in Owensboro, Kentucky. Additional parking will be available at the Lincoln Center across the street.

Old School, New School, Everyone Is Invited

Whether you were actually part of the ’90s rave scene or you have only discovered the music through playlists and videos, everyone is invited to hit the dance floor.

So grab your friends, wear something that glows and get ready for a different kind of Saturday night in Owensboro.

Front Row View of Blues Traveler in Concert at The Victory Theatre

On September 21, 2021, Blues Traveler came to the Victory Theatre in Evansville while on tour promoting their new album Traveler's Blues. The remainder of that tour was canceled just a few days later after frontman John Popper was injured in a bus accident.
Big shout out to our friend, and talented photographer, Nick Durcholz of Farthingtonfauxtoe for these great pics.
